The work will be part of the ERC Synergy project that will start at the begining of April 2020. "CUBE". Unravelling the secrets of Cu-based catalysts for C-H activation. Within the project we plan to make, characterize and test molecules and materials based on Cu(II)/Cu(I) species highly dispersed and with peculiar coordination envoiroment, that are able to react with molecular oxygen and convert selectively methane into methanol in mild conditions. The student will be part of a network that involve also the University of Oslo, Chemistry department, Prof. Unni Olsbye, the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion, Germany, Serena DeBeer; Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway, Prof. Dr. Vincent Eijsink.
