New restrictions on teaching activities starting Mon March 8th

Published: Saturday, March 6, 2021

Dear students, colleagues and all those who are working at UniTO,

I wish to share with all of you a part of the message sent by our Rector, Prof. Stefano Geuna.

The Regional Coordination Committee has introduced new measures regarding the methods of carrying out teaching and research activities in the Universities of Piedmont. These provisions are based on the principle of limiting activities in presence, with the exception of those that cannot be waived, and aim at limiting the spread of Covid-19 in the current phase of pandemic exacerbation.

In this context, lessons, graduation sessions and exams (written and oral), will return exclusively in remote mode.

However, some activities that involve our students can still be carried out in presence (always in strict compliance with safety and prevention protocols). In particular:

1)      Experiential activities (at laboratories or out-door, internships).

2)      Library services for consultation and lending activities

3)      Access to study rooms to ensure access to connectivity

4)      Student reception, upon reservation.

These measures are in effect from 7 to 20 March 2021.

The situation in our Region is constantly evolving and today presents inevitable margins of uncertainty due to the unpredictable dynamics of the spread of the contagion. I appeal to the profound sense of responsibility already demonstrated so far and I recommend strict compliance with the rules. The vaccination campaign is ongoing and an effort is still needed to overcome this new delicate phase as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Silvia Bordiga
