The research thesis aims at fabricating by ion implantation and characterizing upon photoluminescence confocal microscopy the optical activity of impurity-related classes of defects in diamond. The research activitity is preparatory to the development of non-classical light sources, for applications in quantum optics and quantum-enhanced sensing.
